Hi, my name is Justin Eckard and I am a senior this year. When I was a freshman I attended Steve Stefani Dance Marathon as a dancer and immediately wanted to be more involved. I quickly grew from a committee member to a captain but still wanted to have a bigger role within the organization. As the Overall Chairperson of 2018, I am in a perfect position to give this event everything I have. I dance this year in memory of the close ones who have passed, and for the friends who are still fighting. With this year’s leadership team and school community, the sky's the limit. See you April 27th, FTK!
Hello! My name is Steven Leone and I’m proud to be your 2018 Communications Committee Head. My Four Diamonds journey began in freshmen year as a simple dancer. It would not be until junior year until I mustered up the courage to join the Operations committee for the 2017 Dance Marathon. Here I learned the importance of teamwork and dedication that make this event so special. Not only did this show me important skills that allow SSDM to flourish, it also put me on the path to being a leader. Seeing all the behinds the scene process and effort it takes to set up the event really showed everyone was so committed for such an amazing cause. With this inspiring group, I hope that we will foster love and passion for the next generation. Cancer is a horrible disease that almost everyone can say has affected their family in some way. I dance for for those who can not and that one day we will finally hear the words cancer is no more.
My name is Valentina Ciancaglini and I am beyond excited to be this year's Dancer Relations Leader for SSDM 2018. I am a junior at SHS, and have been involved with SSDM since my freshman year where I started off as a dancer. Following into my sophomore year, I was a committee member for Hospitality. Both of my older sisters served on the Leadership Team while they were in highschool, and I always looked up to them. Being apart of Leadership has always been a dream of mine. I dance for the kids, and in hope that we will find a cure. I can not wait for this wonderful journey that I will be apart of this year! FTK
Hola! My name is Andrew Gildea, and I am currently a senior at SHS. I have participated in THON the last 3 years and am extremely excited to fulfill my last year as Donor Relations leader. As a dancer my freshman and sophomore year I saw how big of an impact we have been making in the community. Which led me to apply to be in the Family Relations committee, to experience first hand how families are impacted by this disease. I hope for this year to be the most successful yet, and can not wait for my last 15 hours FTK!!!
Hi, my name is Cam Thorpe. I’m a senior and the Entertainment Leader for SSDM 2018. I’ve been involved in mini-Thons since 6th grade, where I helped the leadership team with the Brunner Bash. I was then Entertainment Leader for my 7th and 8th grade years. The past two years, I’ve been a member of the Entertainment Committee, and have always been looking for a way to contribute more to the fight against pediatric cancer. This year, I look forward to having control over the Enter tainment Committee and making this year's’ Thon the most fun and lucrative yet! In addition to SSDM, I am also a member of the Community Service Club, the baseball and soccer teams, NHS, and the Spanish Honor Society.
Faculty and Alumni Relations
Hi, I am Risa Iatesta, and this year I have the pleasure of serving as your Faculty and Alumni Relations Committee -- or as I like to call it, FARC -- leader. I was given a wonderful opportunity of leading a new committee and I am super excited to give it my all and dedicate myself to this exceptional cause. FARC is all about the faculty and school involvement in SSDM and I have lots of ideas ready to explore and execute. Being super involved in the school already through Student Council and various other activities, this committee is a perfect fit for me! Before FARC, I was a member of Logistics and a captain for Fundraising. Both of these committees were an amazing way for me to get involved in SSDM, and now I get to truly immerse myself into FARC. I am ready to dance for the kids and for a cure!!
Hi I'm Haley DeBello and a senior this year. I am apart of the varsity cheerleading and softball team along with being this year’s family relations leader. Seeing my sister be apart of SSDM and coming up and seeing the reveal every year with my family, I knew as soon as I came to the high school I wanted to help out as much as possible. I've been apart of SSDM since freshman year. Knowing family relations was the committee for me I joined sophomore year as a committee member and serving as a captain last year. The best part of SSDM is getting to see the smiles on all our SSDM families faces during the night, giving me a reminder of why I dance. SSDM is a huge part of my life and this year I'm very excited to be apart of the team and make this SSDM one for the books. As always, FTK!
Hi! My name is Rachel Gould. I am a senior and this year’s finance leader. I have been a part of this committee since my sophomore year, last year I served as a captain, and I am so excited to play a bigger part in this event this year. I dance for those in our community affected by this horrible disease and to one day find a cure. In addition to SSDM, I am in the marching band, I’m treasurer for NHS, and I work at the Springfield Township Library. If you have any questions about donor drive or finance please feel free to contact me. I can’t wait to dance one last time, FTK!
Hi, my name is Devin Becker and I am the Fundraising Leader for the 2017-2018 Steve Stefani Dance Marathon. I am very humbled to be apart of this team and excited to be a larger part of this organization. I dance for a cure, so no child ever has to miss out on another birthday. I also dance for Mike Komar #FightLikeMike. During SSDM, it amazes me how our community comes together to dance for such a great cause. As a community we are as affected by cancer in everyday life, and because of that we need to do everything we can to make a change. If you would like to donate an item, or a raffle basket feel free to contact me. FTK!
My name is Meghan Nolan and I am a senior here at SHS. I am honored to be the Hospitality Leader for the 2018,Steve Stefani Dance Marathon. As a freshman I was a dancer at SSDM and by the end of the night I was amazed by not only the amount of money raised, but by the stories of the families whose lives have been touched through the dance marathons. I knew as a Sophomore I wanted to be more involved in this organization. This caused me to became a hospitality committee member because I wanted to be a bigger part of this cause.Junior Year, I was a captain for hospitality and glad to be a part of all the hard work that makes this dance marathon possible. This year I am so very excited to make this marathon the best one yet as your Hospitality Leader. SSDM will forever be a part of my life and I am honored to have been a part of such an inspiring event.
Hi! Im Taylor and I am the leader of the Logistics committee for the 2018 SSDM. Logistics organizes permission slips, writes thank you cards, and helps compose the master schedule for the entire year. I wanted to be a leader for this committee because I have always been good at keeping things organized at home, school, and work, along with juggling many things at once. Outside of SSDM I run cross country/track, work at Rita's, and am part of Cougar Ambassadors and FBLA. I joined SSDM because In high school there is only so much you can do to really make a difference in this world and this is the one thing I felt called to do. I dance for my Mom, Mrs. Padley, and Mike Komar.
Hey guys! My name is Sarah Uddin and this year I have the honor of serving as the new Merchandising head for the upcoming 2018 Steve Stefani Dance Marathon. I have been involved with the Merchandising committee ever since my sophomore year, starting as a committee member and then as a captain my junior year. Throughout my years with this committee, I have learned the power of awareness and how it can be relayed in a multitude of ways ranging from the students themselves, social media, and of course my favorite… merchandise. There is a sense of hidden awareness within merch that I find absolutely incredible: one never knows how much of an impact they are making when they simply wear a THON t-shirt or a FTK wristband or holding a SSDM water bottle. This year I look forward to continue my involvement with the merchandising committee making sure this sense of awareness merchandise has to offer never loses its light. But most importantly, I am beyond excited to come together with such a dedicated student body once again to continue changing lives and saving lives for kids that are not as fortunate as we are.
Hi! My name is Maggie Larkin. I am a senior this year and the Public Relations Committee Head. My freshman year I was a dancer and knew I wanted to be more involved. My sophomore and junior year I served as a captain on the Hospitality Committee. I dance for those who can’t and everyone in this community affected by this disease. I am honored to be a part of such an incredible community event.
Hi! My name is Jordyn Pace and this year I’m so excited to be the leader of the Operations Committee! I first got involved with SSDM when I was in 9th grade; seeing the community come together to support so many strong children and families was eye opening and made me realize that I wanted to do everything I could to help. When I was a sophomore, I joined the Operations committee, and I have worked my way up from committee member, to captain of Operations as a junior, and now leader! I’ve been involved in many activities in SHS, but I am the most passionate about SSDM as I have witnessed the profound effect it has in changing so many lives, and bringing an entire community together to raise awareness for a such an important cause. I believe that one day soon we will find a cure, but until then we all need to work our hardest to raise money to end this terrible disease. The Steve Stefani Dance Marathon is something I have been beyond proud to participate in every year I’ve spent at the high school, and I encourage every student to come join us this year on April 27th in our fight to find a cure for the kids!
Rules and Regulations
Hi everyone! My name is Kerry McCann and this year I feel blessed to have been chosen as the Leader of the Rules and Regulations committee for the 2018 Steve Stefani Dance Marathon. Having been a part of Brunner Bash in middle school, coming into the high school I knew about SSDM and knew I wanted to be a part of it in any way that I could. As a freshman I was a dancer. The following year, as a sophomore, I was a member of the Technology committee and last year, as a junior, I was a captain for the Technology committee. Being involved in SSDM the past three years and knowing the importance of what we do as a community, I am so excited for what this year has to bring! This year we are dancing for Mike Komar, a fighter like no other! I dance today so that one day everyone can dance in celebration when there is a cure for this horrible disease. I dance in honor of Nani Ficco, Brielle Barber, and all those that no longer can.
Social Media Relations
Hi! My name is Michaela Henry and this year I am so excited to serve as the Social Media Relations leader. I have been so lucky to have been involved in Steve Stefani Dance Marathon over the past two years in high school, and participating in Brunner Bash in middle school. As a leader of Brunner Bash, I got the opportunity to come up to SSDM for the first few hours. I was so amazed that so many high schoolers were able to make this event a reality and stand for 15 hours. I was especially inspired by the first family hour I ever listened to. Hearing every family’s battle with pediatric cancer made me so passionate about joining the fight and helping to raise money in any way I could. I have always looked up to the members of the SSDM leadership team and I am still in shock that I get to be apart of it. Last year I was a committee member of the hospitality committee. I cannot wait to dance 15 hours all FTK!
Hello My name is Tyler O’Connell I am a senior and I am this year's special events leader. I am extremely grateful and excited to be given the opportunity to help coordinate SSDM this year. I joined the Special Events committee last year because I wanted to try something different and I found something I was really passionate about I really felt like I was making a contribution. I really love giving back to my community I coach multiple teams in the youth intramural and travel soccer programs along with playing for the high school. I hope to raise even more money and get more people involved with the events this year. The people who drives me the most to combat this disease are Mike Komar and his inspirational battle and my grandfather who lost his fight with lung cancer.
